Julie Maroh, author of the highly acclaimed graphic novel Le Bleu est une couleur chaude/Blue is a Warm Colour (2011), is seizing the CAPC with the illustrator Maya Mihindou, and presenting a new opus: the exhibition PROCESSION.
Procession is a visual narrative occupying 11,000 sq.ft, which plunges visitors into a story of conflict and cohabitation, based as much on a unprecedented presentation of works from the CAPC collection as on drawings connecting them (stencils, tags, mini-frescoes, graffiti, enlarged drawings, etc.). The exhibition takes artworks hostage whilst becoming a gigantic comic strip illustration. It weaves the web of a social and political story whose characters—emotion-characters—question our perception of the Other, as well as the museum’s capacity to invite visitors to follow a story put together from scratch.
Procession is an exhibition initiated by Alexis Vaillant, Chief Curator at the CAPC musée d'art contemporain de Bordeaux, and written and presented by Julie Maroh and Maya Mihindou.
