The CAPC’s library collection has been put together since the late 1970s. It is made up of some 40,000 volumes on present-day art, photography, architecture and design. The library also has a collection of multimedia archives—photo, video, sound—describing CAPC programmes.

General works on basic contemporary art movements, exhibition catalogues, artists’ dossiers, dictionaries, encyclopaedias.

500 periodical titles are held in the collection, including collections of A.E.I.O.U., Architectural Design, Chroniques de l’Art vivant, Arte Factum, Artistes, Artstudio, Axe Sud, Cahiers de la Photographie, Dits, L’Ecrit Voir, Etudes photographiques, Figures de l’art, Interfunktionen, Kunstforum International, Ligeia, Peintures Cahiers Théoriques, + - 0, 4 Taxis, Terzo Occhio, VH  101, XX e Siècle, etc.

The library currently subscribes to some 60 magazines.
Some, like Afterall, Art Asia Pacific, Bidoun magazine, Cabinet magazine, Frog, Kaleidoscope, Metropolis, Mousse  and Texte zur Kunst are not easy to come by in France.

Pratical details

Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm (8pm on Wednesdays) during Jean-Paul Thibeau's exhibition.
The 32-seat reading room is open access.
No loans, on the spot consultation only.
